DEBS WINS AT THE NEW WEMBLEY STADIUM
If you were to ask any footballer what there dream would be
most would say to lead there team out as Capitan at Wembley
Stadium and that's exactly what Debs did on July 15th 2007.
Competing in the national 5 a side 'Umbro Fives' tournament
held at hundreds of venues around the country .Three
vigorous rounds and only a win at each level would put her
team through to the dream finals held at the new Wembley
Stadium.
Having won all the qualifying
rounds, Langford Ladies put themselves through to the dream
finals as one of the 8 teams fending off over 2000 others.
After playing three qualifying games on the hollow turf
Langford saw themselves into the semi-finals were they won
1-0 to play in the first ever women's final at the New
Wembley Stadium and making history.
After
going a goal down the whole Wembley experience was set
alight and Langford Ladies scored twice with no reply to
lift the first ever cup at the New Wembley stadium.
Proud captain Debs later committed on the experience " it
was a dream come true going to the Stadium but playing,
being Capitan, scoring the first goal for Langford and being
the first lady to lift a trophy at Wembley is unreal, not
many players can say they done that. Im sure I will be
talking about it for years to come, or until next time"
Former Everton & Wales International Goalkeeper Neville Southall
recently ran a Goalkeeper Soccer School at Ampthill Town FC.
Neville used Molten footballs for the successful course which
had 40 attendees aged between 10 and 18.
"The quality of the Molten footballs that were used on the
course was superb, I look forward to using them again"
